Back Pain at 17 Years Old?

Im 17 and have constant back pain, i can sit down, exersize, lie down, and what ever i do nothing seems to help. its not a dreadful pain but enough to cause me discomfort. I have had a few deep massages by proffessionals but which only help for a while. I rarely drink liquid ( about one glass a day) and wonder if this could contribute. that could explain the lower back and kidney pain but my shoulders cause me extreme discomfort and just would love an explanation. would stress cause back pain and tension as i suffer from that alot?? carrying school stuff daily doesnt help matters either..... many thanks for your ideas of how to relieve this. xxxx
Answer:
You need to drink A LOT MORE ... your body needs about 64 ounces of 'fluid' (not with caffeine) a day ... and yes, your 'constant dehydration' can cause both 'lower back pain' and kidney problems, but can also cause a lot of pain in your 'upper back and shoulders' ... because you literally don't have enough 'fluid' in your system to keep things 'moving' properly without 'grinding' at your joints.
Go and see your GP and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist if it isn't caused from a medical reason - I suffer from back pain and it is horrible - when I had my 2nd daughter I really struggled during labour with the pain from my back - get it sorted as it will only get worse as you get older
COULD BE KIDNEY PROBLEMS AND /OR A KIDNEY STONES ..LACK OF WATER CAN LEAD TO KIDNEY PROBLEMS TOO
Go to the docs, you may need to have physio on it. It could be due to the lack of fluid, but could also be your posture.
Maybe you're knocked up.
It can be several things such as the books you carry on your back, it can be your chest size is causing the back problem. It can be numerous issues.
it sounds like your back is out between your shoulders or it could be the bag you use for school. if you back is out you might have to go to a chiropractor to get it back in or if that is not the case then see if it is your bag as it could give you grief, get a back pack if you don't already have one . i cant help you much as i dint know if you do have a good bag or not so i hope this helps , Toni
Take a pain killer and go to the dr.
You should drink at least 8 glasses of water. Here is a simple remedy until you see your doctor.Massaging the back muscles will reduce the pain.Apply an icepack to the affected area. This will make the area numb and reduce the pain. More details and remedies at http://aches.in/backpainremedies.html...
I suffered back pain...2 years ago when i was 17. I had a swolen muscle in my back. School bags are evil try using a locker if your school provides one and ONly take what you desperatly need. Stress causes tension which tightens your muscles. But I guess your doing exams soon so maybe see your doctor, he might be able to tell you how to relieve stress. You should drink plenty of fluids if you dont like water try squash. Tea/coffee contributes to your daily amount. And there are antitoxants in tea which is benificail. Try Herbal tea- I like camomile when i am stressed. It tastes VILE but it works.
Get well soon xx
