Can cervical spondilitis -- intense headache may cause death at 42 yr age ? tell reamedy.?

Answer:
Hi there!i have cervical spondilytes and no!! its nothing to panic abt and its not life threathening--i usually have it once a yr or once in 2 yrs esp during winter--sumtimes i feel like christoper reeves--many a times i thot i wud die of the intense pain and inability to move--its caused by stress mainly ,also the lubricants in ur spine works less-it has to be oiled naturally--which means u gotta exercise--and DONT ever attempt it wen ur pain is severe--when the pain is intense--lie down flat--dont use too soft or too hard a pillow=perferably no pillows--hard flat surface, take calcium tabs and painkillers-ask ur dr.rest.dont bend ur neck and work--covering books, cooking, computers etc-and u will live to b a 100--btw i m 41 and i dont wanna die!!!
Such patients would not die because of this problem...

They should do the following:

Regular exercise of neck is essential...
Do not keep your head lean down for long time...
Always read any thing in upright position...

In spondylosis blood supply to the head is reduced hence you should do whatever the physicians suggest to regulate blood supply to your head... take it granted that if you follow all the above you would get rid of all the pains out of this problem...
mere cervical spondilits never cause death at any age.Cervical spondilitis is a degenerative disk disorder with acute pain over days to weeks.Degenerative changes occur in uncovertebral joints causing pain over neck and rediating towards the upper limbs. Treatment is NSAID Durgs, Isometric cervical muscle strengthening exercices, Heat or Ice massage, Short term immobilization in soft collar can be consider.

Can Catnip be used as a drug?

Can "catnip" be used as a drug, i.e. smoked or anything?
Answer:
You can make a nice tea out of it that can be used as a sleep aid. I tried it once and fell asleep halfway through my cup. Don't use catnip made for cats, though... It has other junk shoved in it. You'll have to get the actual plant itself or a special tea blend of it.
I personally wouldn't try it.

My friend and her friends smoked mixed herbs once to see what it was like (they ran out of mary j)

I thought that was pretty funny, quite sad though. She said they all nearly threw up - as you would.
I think it is only a turn on for cats. Maybe if your a big *****.
only for cats , and they smell it and eat it , but for humans notta

Can breathing in carbon monoxide cause headaches and tiredness?

I've heard that if you breathe in carbon monoxide can make you tired and get headaches..I'm just wondering if its true or not.
Answer:
The symptoms of carbpn monoxide poisoning are similar to the flu, food poisoning, or other illnesses. Even low levels of carbon monoxide can cause shortness of breath, mild nausea, and mild headaches. At moderate levels it can cause severe headaches, dizziness, severe nausea, mental confusion, or fainting.
.
absolutely true
i thought it killed you? but ok
Yes, and it can KILL YOU
Not only that, it can kill you too.
yes, and it can also, and most likely will also given enough of it, kill you horribly
umm maybe you're thinking about carbon dioxide and the answer is yes. breathing carbon monoxide causes death.
"The earliest symptoms, especially from low level exposures, are often non-specific and readily confused with other illnesses, typically flu-like viral syndromes, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, and migraine or other headaches.[10] Often this makes the diagnosis of carbon monoxide poisoning difficult. If suspected the diagnosis can be confirmed by measurement of blood carboxyhemoglobin."
Yep....sure can....can also put to sleep for a long long time in a casket.
Yup it is most definatly true it causes some major headaches and makes you very tired if you think you have a leek in your home you should go to walmark target of cvs and get a carbon test there only about 5 bucks and it will tell you if there is any in your house
yes it is very true.
Yes, it also kills you if you get enough of it.
yes it w'd kill u later.
Yes, it can. As you know, carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and FATAL gas. If you breathe too much of it in it can kill you.
Yes, and in conjunction with those death can occur if you are overexposed to it
Absolutely! My inlaws have been complaining about these symptoms for a few days. Turns out they had a carbon monoxide problem with their heater. Good thing it wasn't too serious. You can die from it.
It's very true. But the headaches and tiredness only last a short while before you die from carbon monoxide poisoning. It's a sad but true statistic that hundred of people die every year when they let the car engine run in a closed garage.
well ofcource and it cozes death too coz it blocks oxygen from entering your cells and oxygen is vital for cellular respiration. also our brain requires massive ammounts of oxygen if we don't get oxygen in our barin we will fell many kinds of side effects not just headahces
yes it does and in liek two hours it will kill u
umm well, most people who breath this stuff in die, so who really knows.
Yeah I would expect a headache, you are suffocating your brain and body.
Yes.
Yes it is true. Carbon monoxide replaces the oxygen in your blood and cause more than you to be fatigued or headaches. These are early symptoms of poisoning. It can be FATAL.

If you are experiencing symptoms similar to this and have been exposed to carbon monoxide, you might want to consider contacting a physician immediately, or call your local poison control center or go to the emergency room for treatment.
it cuts off your oxygen supply, so if you get enough, which isn't that much, it could kill you
Yes. It can also cause death. Carbon Monoxide is a silent killer because it has no scent and you don't know it's there without a monitor. It replaces oxygen in the air so you die of asphyxiation.
I think it can cause tiredness and headaches or sometimes difficulty breathing.

Can being around or working with chemicals make a person go numb/senseless? Specially a girl?

Does working in a lab with chemicals make a person feel numb or senseless? If so, why and how that happens? Please, i really wanna know.. Any kind of an answer would do..
Answer:
Yes, it can. It doesn't matter if you're male or female, exposure to chemicals of any kind can have any number of affects. It could lead to breathing problems (especially if you're asthmatic), numbness in any body part that is exposed, etc. I've even had that happen to me when using some household cleaners. If this person is working with chemicals, the workplace SHOULD, by law, have the proper working conditions (i.e. good ventilation) and provide the proper protective gear (i.e. gloves). If the workplace does not - QUIT, or call your state's OSHA Dept.(Occupational Safety %26 Health Agency) and report them.
YES!!!! It can be absorbed through you hands, skin and air you breathe. Ware gloves always, two pair wouldn't be bad, and use a mask. Ware long sleeve shirts, try to keep yourself cover up. Any exposed skin can draw chemicals. Make sure you wash off really good, after every job. Ware a hair bonnet also. Watch out some of this stuff "combined" can kill you. My Dad used to work in a chemical factory, and the combination's of chemicals gave him Cancer. If you employer does not provide these, get them to!! Contact the occupational safety and health department if they do not want to. That will light a fire under their butts!
Some chemicals are easily inhaled, injested, or even absorbed through the skin. Proper safety precautions should always be taken when handling any type of chemicals, including household ones. It does not matter if the person is male or female, although people may have differing reactions to various chemicals.

There are chemicals which will affect the nervous system. Sometimes the effects are only minor and temporary, but there can also be permanent damage. Even if the symptoms seem to have passed, the person should still seek medical help.

If you suspect someone has come in contact with a harmful chemical, do not take any chances. Check the label or packaging for first aid information, contact your local poison control center, or call 911. Provide the medical responders with the suspected chemical(s) so proper treatment can be determined and administered.

Can anyone tell me how to make a poultice.I have a very sore lung, and need to put some heat in that area?

Answer:
I think before anyone gives you a recipe for a poultice, you need to give a bit of information as to WHY your lung is sore. If is from a trauma, it would need something entirely different than if it is due to pneumonia, for example.
Put a hot water bottle on that area, it will be quicker, failing that, fill a mineral bottle up with hot water %26 put it in a glove or wrap in a tea towel, works the same way. But, please see a doctor, just incase. xxx
A drawing poultice would be bread soda with salt. Its usually used for infections on open wounds but would work as well on others. If you have some tea tree oil I would add that as well. But the best thing for a sore lung is massage, try and get someone to massage the top part of your back between the shoulder blades, that will loosen any mucus and ease the pain.
You can make a poultice from bread if you need to, or a large cabbage leaf, ironed(yes!) with the heat still in it. But if the pain is in your lung and you are sure; I would advise you to seek help - your lungs do not normally cause you pain - but when they do, you can be sure there is something serious going on in there.
Or, If you have a hot water bottle, wrap it well so you skin is protected, and apply heat from that
Be safe visit the doctor.
Poultice are things from the dark ages.

Can anyone tell me how i can grow taller?

When i was in my puberty b/n 15-18 i used to work hard stuff like helping my dad when he was building a house now i fear that it have affected my height i am 20yrs now and 5"5' male. can any one tell me how to grow taller.coz i don't feel like this is my height , i was growing taller very fast before i started doing hard stuff.
Answer:
Hard work does not make you stop growing, and nothing will increase your height now
Sorry dude you are 99% (probably 100%) done growing...you are just a short guy...not the end of the world. There is nothing you can do to grow taller once you have reached adult hood...when you were younger you could have taken human growth hormone, but that only works until you reach adulthood.
drink milk and buy some platform shoes
Boys continue to grow tall until 21 but after 18 they will only grow taller a little bit so i think that if you will grow any taller it will be minimal.
my dear boy don't hesitate yourself that your height is so short.
it doesn't a big matter to worry about. instead of worrying show all your concentration on your studies. for eg: sachin tendulkar. he is short only . but his achievements goes for high. it is boundless. like that you can also do one day in a specified field. so be happy with what u have and what u are.
Accept your height now or you will have self issue problems later. I am tall, most of my friends are a lot smaller than you, its not an issue.Just be the best person you can and remember the best things in life come in little packages.
Please look at this web site it may help. You cant and nor do you need to grow taller .

Can anyone recommend, please, something to take/good for irritable bowel syndrome?

Answer:
I've had IBS for years and recently got a stomach flu. I think my digestive system was already so deprived by my IBS that the flu really took hold of me and escalated my IBS beyond anything I had known before. It hung on for about a month and I literally thought I was dying with daily diahrrea and quick trips to the bathroom after every meal. After posting here, someone recommended Activia yogurt by Dannon.

It worked instantly! I could literally feel it bouncing around like a ping pong ball once it hit my intestines and my diahrrea instantly stopped. Per the advice I got here, I've been eating 4 a day for the last 4 days, but plan to cut back now that my intestines are behaving more normally - for the first time in over a month!

Also, limit your fat intake and do remember to eat your vegetables! Raisin Bran works wonders and exercise definitely helps!

Good luck to you!
Best thing is to see the doctor - they can prescribe you little caplets with peppermint in them - I can't remember the name. Good luck.
I've read that victoriahealth.com sell a supplement called Gastrointestinal Support that is supposed to help support your GI tract functions. Don't know if it works but maybe worth a go? It's full of natural ingredients like Aloe Vera and Ginger that are supposed to be good for your stomach.
Peppermint is supposed to be good but really the best way of reducing the symptoms is by finding out which foods make the condition worse and cutting them out. Do this by keeping a diary.
Garlic is the worst food for me although I love it.
Dont drink coffee, this will make it worst!
drink aloe vera juice. it's miraculous. And avoid fatty or fried foods in your diet and stress.
Zelnorm is a good drug. Hyoscyamine is good. Bentyl is good. or that new yogurt activ something
As with any medicine/health food supplement one should always check with one's medical practicioner first before taking anything, especially if one has not taken it previously. That said, I have used 'Mastika' Gum . I used it on the recommendation of my daughter and her personal trainer who, like me had what could be described as IBS. (Although IBS is difficult to diagnose and is sometimes used as a 'catchall'.) Anyway all three of us found it beneficial after using it. It is available at Health Food Shops or on line. Hope it helps, D.
have u tried reflexology?
the best drug for this condition is paregoric. It is an instant reliever and is like liquid gold. If you can get you doctor to writ an Rx for it you will feel like a new person.
The most widespread use of the mangosteen in folk medicine has to do with the Gastrointestinal system. The xanthones, aplha and gamma mangostin, have been found to have both histamine and serotonin receptoer blocking capacity. When serotonin is blocked in the gut, conditions of disoredered motility like IBS ( irratable bowel syndrome) should be affected favourably. The blockinf of serotonin is also the reason mangosteen helps diarrhea sufferers.
Mangosteen is capable of reducing allergic response and stomach acid, as well as protecting the stomach lining from acid damage.

Mangosteen has acid-lowering effects, anti-inflammatory effects, anti-oxident effects, and NO major side effects.

Imodium Advanced or Pepto Bismol
Do see your GP to get everything checked out.
Try to avoid stress, and find something to help you relax and de-stress (yoga is very good)

"Fybogel" (Ispaghula husk) makes up into a drink and helps increase the "good fibre" in your diet. It works to gently relieve constipation in a natural way without undue "straining", discomfort or unnatural "urgency", so helping to restore and help your digestive system, and worked for my IBS

For acid reflux Peppermint herbal tea works as do the "Rennie soft chews", but you may need something stronger from your GP to reduce the amount of acid in stomach (eg Ranitidine)

Try to ensure that you do eat the recommended 5 fruit %26 veg every single day (fruit juice %26 smoothies count towards the five) and eat healthy organic foods more often that "junk food"
It may also be worth keeping a food diary to help pin-point foods which make you worse (skins on apples, pears etc, tinned sweatcorn, too much coffee, and some seeds %26 nuts were all no good for me when I had bad IBS)
Hope you feel better soon
Try buying a bottle of cider vinegar, Put two tablespoonful in a mug with one tablespoonful of honey.
Fill the mug with cold water and drink down.
Some find this hard to drink but once you get used to it it tastes like a dry cider. Take after meals, three or four times a day.

ATB Red (hope it helps) I use cider vinegar for many ailments it's especially good for stomach complaints.
I would go to a doctor and if you already have done that then find another one.
Ask to run some tests to cross Crohn's disease off the list. Just from what little you've said I would just make sure it's not that. Crohn's and IBS seem a lot alike.
Best of Luck to you and hope that you feel better.

Can anyone order methadone legallly?

Curently I am prescibed methadone at a local clinic. The cost is really starting to cause a financial problem. Without it my day is ruined.
Answer:
No, it cannot be bought, it has to be prescribed.
Only doctors, it is still a controlled substance. You may be able to find a clinic that has a sliding scale to better offset the cost. But you should really be working on how to get off the Methadone. Going from an illegal addiction to a legal prescribed addiction is still a problem and will still kill you!
As a controlled substance, there has to be a documented "chain of custody." While a COC can be established via mail order, it's actually quite expensive since it requires special personnel.

As someone else suggested, talk to the clinic to see if they have a sliding scale. And, yes, you should focus on getting off it.

Can anyone help?

I started feeling funny about a hour ago. I am 47, no major problems. My right arm and hand feel tingly almost like asleep and I feel pressure in my chest. I checked my blood pressure and it is 167 over 104 and my pulse is 100. My blood pressure normally runs low. But I have no idea what these numbers mean. Please help if you can!
Thanks!
Yvonne
Answer:
Yvonne, As a doctor, I would highly recommend you go to the nearest emergency room. Chest pressure into an arm (any arm, not just the left) can be a sign of heart attack. The blood pressure is also quite high. Please go get checked out.
Go and report to a hospital Immediately.

Can anyone help me! i wanna know about my dreams and no hocus pocus stuff?

alright see im 12 and whenever i go to bed i have the most horrific nightmares about death gothic cathedrals hanging murderers missing ppl blood dripping maggots blood out of the shower stalkers friends that get murdered and stuff like that and when ever i get a nice NORMAL dream its like flowers and everything (im not gay) and all of the sudden the sky goes black and blood rains down from the heavens
Answer:
you watch to many scarry movies
cool
http://dreammoods.com
You need to examine what you do before bedtime. A lot of dreams are a continuation of the day, something that your subconsious is trying to work out. Do you play Video games that are a bit violent, then that would be the problem of the bloody stuff. Another reason could be the way you feel about school, family, friends. Do you feel opressed or pressured? That also could trigger those dreams. For the next few days just be aware what goes on in school or during the evening.
try to meditate before you go to bed,
also this is a little hard but while you are dreaming
try to realize that you are dreaming
then you can pretty much control your dream

a way to do that is to look at your hands the next time something really bad is happening, they will look all distorted and disfigured
that way you know you are dreaming

once you know its a dream you can fly away and create whatever you want
this is pretty hard and takes a lot of practice though
good luck

Can anyone help how to relieve headache?

my girlfriend suddenly has this huge headache. she says her spots near her eyes hurts and her head aches really bad. her chest also seems to hurt inside she says. she has quiet alot of stress and she is also on diet so that might be the cause but. is there way to relieve the pain quickly and for long term?
Answer:
She needs to make herself throw up anything in her stomach and then drink some water and some regular coffee or tea with caffeine, eat some crackers or a slice of bread, and then go to sleep. If she would take 3 ibuprofen that would be very helpful too.
she cant be picky, either use medicine and kick it, or have a headache for days.
use maltrex or imitrex and it is gone in 5 minutes
It could be migraine,,regular aspirin or tylenol dosent help
Yea beat your head until you bleed.
She needs a good massage all over. However, she needs to go to the doctor to rule out anything medically wrong. Please do not ignore these symptoms....her life depends on it!!
From a girl who knows, the first three things to try - 1. Caffeine - cup of coffee or a soda with caffeine. 2. Take your hair down, if its pulled off your face in a clip or something. 3. Lie down - sometimes its a muscle ache in your neck and it causes muscles to tense on your scalp - if you relax the neck and head muscles, it can relieve the pain.

The best thing that works for me (other than the top three) are chiropractic adjustments. Whenever I get a migraine I see my chiropractor and its completely gone within 5 minutes of the adjustment. Its amazing. Other possibilities: she could have a sinus or chest infection like brochitis. Maybe asthma (chest pain) and allergies (headache). Maybe a bad reaction to some diet medications she is taking. Or maybe just stress. Try to get her to see her doctor about it. Could be just stress, could be more.
eating good food and sleep takes my headaches away and if it does not and you have on going migraines you should see a physician to get a cat skin to log out brain-tumor i say that because a member of my family had all ways bad headaches til we say he should go to a doctor not that i want to scare you but he had bad headaches and than brain-tumor and later passed away, don't let that happen to you .
If she is having a migraine that she can not kick, she should see her doctor. He can prescribe her something that would be more effective than Tylenol. If she is on diet pills, then she needs to stop taking them. High blood pressure causes bad headaches. Also, when you are extremely dehydrated you can have severe headaches and drinking lots of water will help. She could be having panic attacks that are causing her chest to hurt and a headache. She could be depriving her body of nutrients by improper dieting that can be doing this. As you can see, there are so many things that could be the cause including those not listed. Going to the doctor could be the best if her pain persists.
take a as pren

Can anyone give advice on how to tackle chronic fatigue?

Are there any herbal remedies that anyone can recommend or is there anything at all that can ease the symptoms?. Can breathing exercises help also??
If you are a sufferer, im happy to email you......
Answer:
This might help:http://www.inhousepharmacy.com/general/m...
If you want to try it, cut into 4 pieces because a whole pill might be too strong. It can cause you to be jittery and have a headache if you take too much.
There is no specific diagnostic test as far as I know for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and the symptom of debilitating fatigue can also cover depression and even malaise (depression does not cause CFS according to some medical journals or online posts); causes are also quite unknown and since the symptoms may also vary from person to person, treatment would vary just as much. I guess the best treatment for this is support from the patient's closest circle of friends and family. Nursing care will recommend as much.

Can anyone give a good psychological reason for dejavu?

Answer:
I've heard that when you are born you kind of see all your life (kind of like when someone is about to die their entire life flashes before their eyes).
But the thing is you don't remember it. Most people don't remember the first 2-3 years of their lives.

Hope this helped.
In the deep recesses of our mind a memory chord is struck. We may not have been there , but it was somewhere remarkably similar.

Can anyone explain this?

I woke up suddenly from sleep to discover that I am paralysed from head to toe. I could see the ceiling and hear sounds but could not even make a sound. I was fully concious of my situation but was not worried. after a few minuts, with great difficulty, I could move my toe a little and suddenly I was broken free and started breathing hard. Can you please explain this
Answer:
circulation....your body was not getting proper circulation during your sleep.
Sleeping in a sleeping bag will prevent this from happening.
Get some ginko biloba herb for this problem also
or eat cherries.
Sorry, i have no idea but it sounds like you might want to see a doctor. Good luck :)

Can anyone else write upside down and back to front.. at the same time?

Im able to write upside down and back to front since I was a kid, (also write in mirrors) one of my teachers was amazed back in secondary school.. Im a lefty, and whenever someone sees me doing it there amazed.. can anyone else do it? or is it just my weird brain? lol
Answer:
Can't be your wierd brain....unless you've infiltrated mine!!!! It's not easy, but when you're helping children at school, you quickly learn to do it so the work is the right way for them!!!!
What do you mean, back to front?
Left to right?
Yeah, I do both, I write in the runes, I read upside down when I used to forget my textbooks.
The sharing student would turn the book 90 degrees from each of us, and I would just say- no, you read it regular, I got it.
must be your weird brain lol
Well I just tried it for the first time and guess what!! I can can do it too. You are sooo not weird. It actuall feels normal to me.
Many centuries ago - back in the dark ages when I was at school, I had a dinner lady who could do this. It was incredible to watch - quite a party piece!
i usually write all my things like that since i am left handed so that i dont get ink and lead all over my hand..my handwriting actually looks better that way. everyone at school is amazed by it.!!
no not me im barely able to write r-l ha good luck with that im sure you will find some use for it
My father was born left handed, but forced to use his right hand as a child. As an adult he could write with both hands simultaneously, in 2 different directions but not upside down as far as I can remember (he didn't do it except as an occasonal party trick). My uncle was forced to write with his right hand, but taught himself to draw, so he always drew with his left hand. A left handed boy at my school used to write backwards - I can remember his paintings being pinned up, with the titles written in mirror writing.
hey i'm a lefty and guess what...... i can do it too, OMG

Can animals get drunk or high? If so what would a drunk dog do?

Yesterday I filled my dogs water bowl with some vodka mixed with tequila
Answer:
Yes animals could get drunk. Here's the proof...

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseac...
well, what did she do then?

I've heard of dogs getting drunk on beer before, so I'm guessing they can get drunk and high
drunk elephant tried to kill Buddha.
I'm sorry but that is cruel. It can kill your dog, not to mention give him liver damage. Yes, they get drunk and high like humans, but it's still really cruel to do.
Yes they will get drunk and fall over the same as we do.
Not a good idea to give them anything...!!!
My dad got our dog drunk awhile back. (Fed her a WHOLE 6 pack)
But all she did was walk sideways and her eyes were bloodshot. She didn't do anything harmful.
But it is harmful to their health so please do not give your dog beer anymore!!
Yes, they can. And it affects them more than humans, they can even die.
Drunk animals behave the way the drunk people do: vomit, do stupid things, lost coordination.
I thought that giving alcohol to animals was prohibited? Were are the animal protection services?
yes like human,it'll sleep when drunk.
yeah they can......well i've seen a drunk dog from beer but if i was you i'd remove this question cause if like animal protestor people see this you could get in so much crap like time in jail lol but i was juss like a drunk person
My cat has gotten uber stoned on cat nit that count?
OF COURSE THEY CAN. THEY'D DO SAME THING WE DO WHEN WERE DRUNK. TRIP AND FALL, SLEEP, BUMP INTO **** ETC...
It is often "FATAL" to get a dog drunk.
It's not very nice to get animals stoned but I do have a rotti that's an alcoholic give him an unopened can of rum and he plays with it until he puts a hole in it then sleeps all night no barking his snoring is another story
I checked all the answerer's for fun %26 well I,ve heard that been done %26 that is so cruel, shame on you.
Hi!
I asked my dad about thAt same question also. What he related to me was his experience when he was still a teen. He %26 his peers were drinking beer--- just plain ol' beer, and were really annoyed of a dog that kept on barking and howling. 'Coz of their anger, they choked the thing with one whole bottle of beer. "And ya'know what the dog did?" It howled like a broken siren, it even barked while it was howling(well that's what what my dad said). He also said the dog could even walk backwards!
But hey, that's what I heard...
that is awful y did you do that?
i don't think a dog would be dumb enough to drink it.

Can an infection stick around after antibiotics are taken as directed?

My husband had back surgery 3 weeks ago. He got an infection after drain tube was taken out. He was on Avelox for 10 days. He was done with meds last Sat. Draining hasn't stopped and wound doesn't look like it's healing. Could infection still be there. have call into dr. Would appreciate any help.
Answer:
Hi there, Im a dentist not a doctor but to answer your question Yes an infection can still be present after antibiotics.

Sometimes a second or even third course is necessary.

He may have needed longer than 10 days antibiotics

The antibiotics may not have been strong enough

They may not have been suitable for this specific infection

Your husband may have resistance to the antibiotics (if he's used them before)

My advice is yes visit the doc asap, and I imagine the wound needs to be cleaned and more antibiotics will be necessary
Yes, thats why they have different types of antibiotics. They also might put him on a different type of dosing schedule to help combat the infection.
I'm no doctor but from my experience with healing watching others doctors speak of healing in Months along with recovery. If you don't have a check back scheduled I might ask that someone takes a look at it.

Can an aneurysm be stress related?

Answer:
I'm no doctor, and I can't be 100% certain, but I am feel confident saying that the answer is yes. Stress can cause many different ailments in our bodies, and it can affect everyone in different ways...hair loss, headaches, high-blood pressure, skin rashes, fainting etc... Since an aneurysm is an ruptured blood vessel then I would have to believe that all of these other things could cause abnormalities in a vein. Again, I'm not 100%, but I feel pretty confident about that.
No, an aneurysm is a bulging of an artery...
Hypertension we know for sure can be caused by stress, and aneurysms we know for sure can be caused by hypertension...so indirectly, yes.
If you think an aneurysm is stress related
then you would think that stress is aneurysm related
The answer is no.

Can alcohol make you swell up?

I was at a party last night. Now i've been drinking socially for a year now so i'm not completely new to it. I had three drinks. The first was from a bottle...i think it was Bacardi? The next was some sort of sour apple liquor and juice. The third was liquor and sprite.

Extra details that might matter?
-I'm a guy
-It was a dance party.
-It was VERY hot and crowded
-We had been waiting in the cold (30deg) for 30min before getting inside
-There was a fog machine

After about 2 hours I noticed my fingers felt stiff. I looked down and my fingers had swollen. My watch and wristband were all of a sudden tight now too. I went to bathroom and noticed minor swelling in my face. I'm assuming my whole body was swollen. I didn't feel any different except for the fact that since my fingers were swollen my sense of touch was dull and my fingers were hard to move.

After the party (~2hrs later), the swelling was completely gone.

What happened to me?
Answer:
It can cause swelling. Too much of anything is not good.
it'll make you throw up and smell like sh it

Can alcahol in Vodka sterilize? For example, if a person had a cold sore, took a 100 proof vodka and swooshed?

it around the mouth and over the lips, then kissed a baby - would the baby be safe from the cold? (weird question, I know.)
Answer:
I don't think the baby would be safe; you're still contagious. But, if you swallow after you swoosh, you'll probably feel better.
It irritates your baby`s skin where you kiss.

Can a virus cause you to have a temperature?

Answer:
Yes.Thats usually the first sign of a virus.
yes
viral infection....i think so.....
of course it can, any time we are unwell, we have a temp, although it may not be high enough to notice.
The most common virus, the common cold, doesn't usually cause a fever but, yes, there are certain viruses that can cause you to have a temperature.
yes u can have a temperature shivers aches and pains just like colds and flu
yes indeed, I have one now and a temp of 102!! feel wrecked.
ye
Raising your temperature is one of the bodies most common defence mechanisms to fight virus infections
Yes it is your bodies defences fighting the virus.
Yes, a virus can most definitely cause you to have a temperature. The flu virus for example could make your temperature go up as high as 39deg C or otitis media could go higher. Any virus can cause a temperature, and you should try to get it down with aspirin or paracetamol.
Yes it can, depends on what your temperature is:-
It is probably the single commonest cause! The virus itself is not directly responsible. In the presence of viruses part of the body defence system causes the the temperature to be elevated. This has two effects.1st the body defence system is speeded up as it gets hotter and becomes more effective in combating the virus. 2nd many infective organisms are designed to function most efficiently a the body temperature of the host. Increasing the temperature makes them less efficient, and indeed may kill them.

Can a take 2 Lexapro pills that are 10mg?

i take one aday. if i took 2 would it be bad?
would it be bad if i took 2?
Answer:
Yes, anti-depresssants are not something to mess with. There is a reason that your doc prescribed the dosage he/she did. If you are not feeling any releif call your doctor before making any changes to the dosage. Sometimes it takes times for the medicine to become effective. I have been on it before, you body needs time to adjust.
only if your doctor says it is okay.
no but you could have side effects from it ask your doc
If your doctor prescribed 10mg per dose...then take only 10mg......increasing the dosage of this particular med may not give you the result you think it will (i.e.:more mg..feel even better)...Lexapro does not work that way....it is a maintainance drug , not an accute drug.Go to "the MedlinePlus" web site and put in the key word Lexapro and read the details........
If you did it already then you will probably be fine. If your doc has only prescribed taking one per day, then do not take 2. If you do it more than once or twice, then it is going to start to have a deteriorating effect on your body. Some doctors do not even prescribe the entire pill per dose, they have some people cut it in half.

Be careful because taking too much can leave a permanant effect on your body and your mind. If can become impossible to come off of it and taking too much has been known to have a bipolar like effect.

If the 10mg dose of Lexapro is not working talk to your doc about using something else. Keep in mind though it can take as long as 6 weeks for the effects to kick in and start helping you. Hang in there.
Im taking Lexapro too. I went with my neurologist yesterday and he told me that is not a good idea to change a lexapro, Im going to take mg for another 8 months, so dont move our dossage, but if you are not feeling ok with the dossage you are rigth now talk to your doctor.
You probably will not drop dead if that's what you mean but I started out on 10mg and was only raised to 20mg after about 5 weeks because the 10 wasn't doing much of anything. It took another week or two of taking the new dose for me to feel any effect and I did start to feel better. I see my psychiatrist every 2 weeks so she can monitor how I feel. I've been feeling horrible again the past 2 weeks and I'm seeing her again on Wednesday. I'm praying she'll raise the dose again but it's possible she may want to switch me to something else. SO, yes it's bad and basically pointless if you take 2. You'd have to continue taking two a day for at least week or month before you felt any different anyway. You are not supposed to mess with your dosages without talking to a doctor about it first.

Can a Physician's Assistant operate a private practice on their own?

Once someone acquires a PA degree, does a physician's assistant alway have to be affiliated or work with a doctor or can they have a practice all on their own?
Answer:
We have a PA in our little town. She has her own practice but she has to have an MD to more or less oversee what she does from afar.
If they're an assistant, I wouldn't go to them

.
They have to be with a doctor at all times as the doc oversees everything they do. They cannot have their own practice.
no,they can only assist
pretty sure a pa must have an md's dea number to prescribe drugs---so, i gotta say no, can't be in practice alone..Tammy H

Can a person use a tanning bed while taking predisone?

I am taking predisone for a respitory infecton. It is safe to use a tanning bed while taking predisone?
Answer:
No that is not a good idea. Also be careful of cuts and other injuries, they will atke a very long time to heal. I was currently on prednisone and it happened to me. Your immune system will suffer while on the medication and once you stop it takes about 3-4 weeks for you to be back to normal.
Only very silly and immature people ever usae a tanning bed. Grow up.
you shouldn't even be near a computer right now

Can a person die from Hypothyroid? What are the consequences of it?

Answer:
Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the body lacks sufficient thyroid hormone. Since the main purpose of thyroid hormone is to "run the body's metabolism", it is understandable that people with this condition will have symptoms associated with a slow metabolism. Over five million Americans have this common medical condition. In fact, as many as ten percent of women may have some degree of thyroid hormone deficiency. Hypothyroidism is more common than you would believe...and, millions of people are currently hypothyroid and don't know it!

Symptoms of Hypothyroidism

Fatigue
Weakness
Weight gain or increased difficulty losing weight
Coarse, dry hair
Dry, rough pale skin
Hair loss
Cold intolerance (can't tolerate the cold like those around you)
Muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches
Constipation
Depression
Irritability
Memory loss
Abnormal menstrual cycles
Decreased libido

Each individual patient will have any number of these symptoms which will vary with the severity of the thyroid hormone deficiency and the length of time the body has been deprived of the proper amount of hormone. Some patients will have one of these symptoms as their main complaint, while another will not have that problem at all and will be suffering from a different symptom. Most will have a combination of a number of these symptoms. Occasionally, some patients with hypothyroidism have no symptoms at all, or they are just so subtle that they go unnoticed. Note: Although this may sound obvious, if you have these symptoms, you need to discuss them with your doctor and probably seek the skills of an endocrinologist. If you have already been diagnosed and treated for hypothyroidism and you continue to have any or all of these symptoms, you need to discuss it with your physician. Although treatment of hypothyroidism can be quite easy in some individuals, others will have a difficult time finding the right type and amount of replacement thyroid hormone.

Since hypothyroidism is caused by too little thyroid hormone secreted by the thyroid, the diagnosis of hypothyroidism is based almost exclusively upon measuring the amount of thyroid hormone in the blood. There are normal ranges for all thyroid hormones which have been calculated by computers which measured these hormones in tens of thousands of people. If your thyroid hormone levels fall below the normal range, that is consistent with hypothyroidism These tests are very accurate and reliable and are so routine that they are available to everybody.

REMEMBER

hypo = too little
thyroidism = disease of the thyroid
Thus, hypo-thyroidism = a disease of too little thyroid activity.

The idea is to measure blood levels of T4 and TSH. In the typical person with an under-active thyroid gland, the blood level of T4 (the main thyroid hormone) will be low, while the TSH level will be high. This means that the thyroid is not making enough hormone and the pituitary recognizes it and is responding appropriately by making more Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) in an attempt to force more hormone production out of the thyroid. In the more rare case of hypothyroidism due to pituitary failure, the thyroid hormone T4 will be low, but the TSH level will also be low. The thyroid is behaving "appropriately" under these conditions because it can only make hormone in response to TSH signals from the pituitary. Since the pituitary is not making enough TSH, then the thyroid will never make enough T4. The real question in this situation is what is wrong with the pituitary? But in the typical and most common form of hypothyroidism, the main thyroid hormone T4 is low, and the TSH level is high.

The next question is: When is low too low, and when is high too high? Blood levels have "normal" ranges, but other factors need to be taken into account as well, such as the presence or absence of symptoms. You should discuss your levels with your doctor so you can interpret how they are helping (or not?) fix your problems.

Oh, if only it were this simple all the time! Although the majority of individuals with hypothyroidism will be easy to diagnose with these simple blood tests, many millions will have this disease in mild to moderate forms which are more difficult to diagnose. The solution for these people is more complex and this is due to several factors. First we must realize that not all patients with hypothyroidism are the same. There are many degrees of this disease from very severe to very mild. Additionally, and very importantly, we cannot always predict just how bad (or good) an individual patient will feel just by examining his/her thyroid hormone levels. In other words, some patients with very "mild" deviations in their thyroid laboratory test results will feel just fine while others will be quite symptomatic. The degree of thyroid hormone abnormalities often, but NOT ALWAYS will correlate with the degree of symptoms. It is important for both you and your physician to keep this in mind since the goal is not necessarily to make the lab tests go into the normal range, but to make you feel better as well! We must also keep in mind that even the "normal" thyroid hormone levels in the blood have a fairly large range, so even if a patient is in the "normal" range, it may not be the normal level for them.

For the majority of patients with hypothyroidism, taking some form of thyroid hormone replacement (synthetic or natural, pill or liquid, etc) will make the "thyroid function tests" return to the normal range, AND, this is accompanied by a general improvement in symptoms making the patient feel better. This does not happen to all individuals, however, and for these patients it is very important to find an endocrinologist who will listen and be sympathetic. (We aim to help you find this type of doctor.) Because most patients will be improved (or made completely better) when sufficient thyroid hormone is provided on a daily basis to make the hormone levels in the blood come into the normal range, physicians will often will rely on test results to determine when a patient is on the appropriate dose and therefore doing well. Remember, these tests have a wide normal range. Find a doctor who helps make you FEEL better, not just make your labs better because once given this diagnosis, you are likely to carry it for a long, long time. There is more than one drug, there is more than one lab test, and there is a "just right" doctor for everybody.

Treatment of Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is usually quite easy to treat (for most people)! The easiest and most effective treatment is simply taking a thyroid hormone pill (Levothyroxine) once a day, preferably in the morning. This medication is a pure synthetic form of T4 which is made in a laboratory to be an exact replacement for the T4 that the human thyroid gland normally secretes. It comes in multiple strengths, which means that an appropriate dosage can almost always be found for each patient. The dosage should be re-evaluated and possibly adjusted monthly until the proper level is established. The dose should then be re-evaluated at least annually. If you are on this medication, make sure your physician knows it so he/she can check the levels at least yearly. Note: Just like we discussed above, however, this simple approach does not hold true for everybody. Occasionally the correct dosage is a bit difficult to pin-point and therefore you may need an exam and blood tests more frequently. Also, some patients just don't do well on some thyroid medications and will be quite happy on another. For these reasons you should not be shy in discussing with your doctor your blood hormone tests, symptoms, how you feel, and the type of medicine you are taking. The goal is to make you feel better, make your body last longer, slow the risk of heart disease and osteoporosis...in addition to making your blood levels normal! Sometimes that's easy, when its not, you need a physician who is willing to spend the time with you that you deserve while you explore different dosages other types of medications (or alternative diagnoses).

Some patients will notice a slight reduction in symptoms within 1 to 2 weeks, but the full metabolic response to thyroid hormone therapy is often delayed for a month or two before the patient feels completely normal. It is important that the correct amount of thyroid hormone is used. Not enough and the patient may have continued fatigue or some of the other symptoms of hypothyroidism. Too high a dose could cause symptoms of nervousness, palpitations or insomnia typical of hyperthyroidism. Some recent studies have suggested that too much thyroid hormone may cause increased calcium loss from bone increasing the patient's risk for osteoporosis. For patients with heart conditions or diseases, an optimal thyroid dose is particularly important. Even a slight excess may increase the patient's risk for heart attack or worsen angina. Some physicians feel that more frequent dose checks and blood hormone levels are appropriate in these patients.

After about one month of treatment, hormone levels are measured in the blood to establish whether the dose of thyroid hormone which the patient is taking is appropriate. We don't want too much given or subtle symptoms of hyperthyroidism could ensue, and too little would not alleviate the symptoms completely. Often blood samples are also checked to see if there are antibodies against the thyroid, a sign of autoimmune thyroiditis. Remember, this is the most common cause of hypothyroidism. Once treatment for hypothyroidism has been started, it typically will continue for the patient's life. Therefore, it is of great importance that the diagnosis be firmly established and you have a good relationship with a physician you like and trust.

Synthetic T4 can be safely taken with most other medications. Patients taking cholestyramine (a compound used to lower blood cholesterol) or certain medications for seizures should check with their physician about potential interactions. Women taking T4 who become pregnant should feel confident that the medication is exactly what their own thyroid gland would otherwise make. However, they should check with their physician since the T4 dose may have to be adjusted during pregnancy (usually more hormone is needed to meet the increased demands of the mother's new increased metabolism). There are other potential problems with other drugs including iron-containing vitamins. Once again, pregnant women (and all women and men for that matter) taking iron supplements should discuss this with your physician. There are three brand name Levothyroxine tablets now available. You may want to consult with your physician or pharmacist on the most cost effective brand since recent studies suggest that none is better than the other.

I hope this helps. As long as you are treated, you shouldn't have any problems. Good Luck.
If left untreated yes. But with proper medication and health care it is completely managable. I know about this very well. Your thyroid controls or affects many body functions, mainly metabolism, and hypothyroid can cause weight gain, extreme fatigue, tumors of the thyroid and other conditions. But it is a fairly common condition and if you have a good doctor who checks your blood levels regularly throughout the year and adjusts your medications it is usually not even a noticable problem to live with. I was hypothyroid, I had a tumor diagnosed when I was 12. I later had a complete thyroidectomy because of cancer at 20, but that is not a common occurance, so don't let that freak you out! Most people with thyroid trouble never have cancer! But I know a lot about how to deal with underactive thyroid because I don't have one at all anymore, so I am regulated by my medication, and I have no problems. If you have any questions or just want to talk, email me anytime. Hope that helps you some. Don't worry!
"Hypothyroidism may cause a variety of symptoms and can affect all body functions. The body's normal rate of functioning slows, causing mental and physical sluggishness. Symptoms vary from mild to severe. The most severe form is called myxedema, which is a medical emergency and can lead to coma and death."
yes. you can have heart failure. I just got treated for this in December of 2006. now I am on thyroid replacement therapy. I had hypothyroidism for about a year before it was treated. It was discovered in my yearly blood work examine. So mine was pretty serious. the TSH was 121.43 You will need to be treated for this and thank goodness it is treatable. and very common
It would be rare, but it could happen if one went without medication for many years. They would probably die from a heart attack that happened because of the increased cholesterol levels that are a symptom of hypothyroidism. Because the thyroid gland is the master gland it relates to all systems in the body. That's why when the gland is underactive, one needs to take thyroid hormone.

Here are some of the symptoms of the condition. As you'll see some are serious; weight gain, difficulty losing weight with diet %26 exercise, IBS with constipation, dry skin, dry thinning hair, sensitivity to light, sensitivity to cold, low body temp, low blood pressure, headaches, slow heart rate, mood changes, fatigue, depression, goiter, increased cholesterol levels, muscle %26 joint aches, fertility problems, menstrual problems, sleep apnea, and deepened voice.

Here is a link to a website with lots of hypothyroid info.
Yes, one can die from hypothyroidism. But, why do that when all you need to do is take a pill 1x day for the rest of your life and get your blood levels tested annually? The thyroid gland regulates your entire metabolism. Don't ignore the condition. If you do, like a clock you will wind down.

Can a person become ticklish again?

I used to be extremely ticklish. In the last year or so (I'm 24), my ticklishness has gone away. I kind of miss it! Has anyone had this problem, and do you know how to fix it? Thanks!
Answer:
Being ticklish is fun
I'm extremely ticklish too but its never gone away..thats odd for that to happen to you-Maybe just not the right person is tickling you or tickling you the right way???
I wish you could have my ticklishness. I am 6ft 4 260 lbs and build houses for a living only to be crippled and incapacitated by my wife tickling me....i lose all strength
As Andrew Tobias once wrote, "People aren't assigned ticklishness the way pansies are assigned colours. Ticklishness has something to do with where your head is."

It seems likely you might be able to recapture the frame of mind you had when you were more ticklish, though figuring out how might be difficult. And perhaps you can try one or two things designed to give you a temporary physical boost in sensitivity.

Can a Heart Surgeon or a Family Doctor pick the amount of hours daily they want to work?

Is that anywhere in the United States ?
Answer:
It depends on the specialty and where you work. A heart surgeon is going to be on call frequently, as they may be needed for am emergency surgery. You can contract with the hospital or clinic you work at to work various shifts and number of days per week, but again this depends on the employer and the specialty.
that' the great thing about being a doctor ! Plus the $ $ $ $
Once they are accredited, they can do anything they like as to hours, days, days off, weather they will see you or not.
Cash, insurance.............they have the license.
We got hit by an 18 wheeler and once papers get signed, you get hung out to dry.

Can a back brace help for scoliosis if im 18?

well i have Scoliosis, I dont know how bad it is i havnt been to the dr's..dont have the money. But i was woundering... If i got the back brace would it help the curve at all?? Im not sure if it would because all the sites i looked at were talking about when your still a kid it helps.. im 18 so idk lol... i dont think its bad enough to have surgery on. But im a cna, and have to do alot of lifting and want try to limite the pain as much as i can.. when i work i wear one of the stap on black braces that they tell us to wear.. but i want to straiten my spine if i can. Thank you for you help
Answer:
I have scoliosis and it was not found until I was 17 and a half. My doctor did not want me to wear a brace because, since I was mostly done growing, it wouldn't help. I'd put the brace on, but everything would just go back to the way it was, after I took it off. Scoliosis can continue to curve even after you have stopped growing, which is why my doctor did surgery. I know you said that you don't have the money to go to the doctor, but I think that you should go when you can, especially if your in pain because of it, like I was. I hope this answered your question.
google
Probably not. The brace is for when your still growing because that's when your spine is developing and in danger of curving more. So your spine is probably as bent as it's gonna get. And the brace doesn't make it straighter it just keeps it from curving more. So if your still growing taller you might wanna consider it.
sorry, but probably not. i have scoliosis, and i'm 13. i'm getting a back brace, but i'm still growing and you arent really growing..........so surgery for you, is the best probably. because a back brace doesn't correct the spine, it only keeps the scoliosis from getting worse.....SORRY!

Call me dumb, But what does my thyroid do?

Answer:
basically your thyroid helps control and maintain your metabolism, which in turn, controls many factors of your body such as your ability to burn calories which is the rate at which you basicaly lose or gain weight.
The thyroid is one of the larger endocrine glands in the body. It is a double-lobed structure located in the neck and produces hormones, principally thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), that regulate the rate of metabolism and affect the growth and rate of function of many other systems in the body. The hormone calcitonin is also produced and controls calcium blood levels. Iodine is necessary for the production of both hormones. Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) and hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) are the most common problems of the thyroid gland.
thyroid is a part of your body but usally the eyeys that get bigger than the normal body part
It takes Iodine out of nutrients, foods and convert it into Thyroid Hormones which regulate metabolism throughout the body.

Caffine Overdose?

I have consumed the following in the past 2-3hours: 1-Monster Energy XXL: 24-ounce 1-200mg NoDoz and 1-Red Bull Energy drink. I am now experiencing a quicker heart beat, shakiness a mild headache and am starting to break out. What if any danger should I be concerned about.
Answer:
You seem concerned. Because of your concern, I'd really suggest calling poison control. I know we don't normally think of caffeine as a poison, but anything can be if we ingest more than our bodies can handle. I don't know anything about caffeine overdoses, but because it is a central nervous stimulant, it can do all sorts of stuff to your heart rate, respirations, etc.

From an online search...

"The National Poison Control Center (1-800-222-1222) can be called from anywhere in the United States. This national hotline number will let you talk to experts in poisoning. They will give you further instructions.

This is a free and confidential service. All local poison control centers in the U.S. use this national number. You should call if you have any questions about poisoning or poison prevention. It does NOT need to be an emergency. You can call for any reason, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
You can worry about having a heart attack and seizures. Go to the hospital right away.
This can actually cause you to have a heart attack, excessive loss of urine resulting in loss of electrolytes, and seizures. Not very smart on your part. You also may start vomitting from the overdose.
There is nothing they can do for you at the hospital. Why in the world would you take this much stuff anyways.
ur my hero.

here go to this site..
http://www.energyfiend.com/death-by-caff...
if you havnt had any nose bleeds i wouldnt get to concerned, that is the most common thing to happen before you would have actual heart trouble, but if your real concerned call the hospital and talk to the triage nurse

Caffeine Sensitvity?

It seems like whenever I have coffee or anything containing caffeine that I become overly hyper and restless to the point of feeling dizzy. The affect can last well into the night. Is there such thing as being overly sensitive to caffeine? What are some other pick-me-ups in the morning that I can try?
Answer:
Have you tried taking a daily vitamin. I take womens one daily in the morning and I am energized throughout the day. You could also eat an apple each morning for breakfast. Apples give you energy.
i found a amazing site about this the other day, i really cant remember what it was called, i got it from google typing in "caffine allergy" it was really good you should have a look.
vitamin B complex is good for your body and gives you energy.
You may be oversensitive to caffeine if you have high blood pressure. Try something decaf or a fruit drink instead.
How old are ya. At 17 I did feel weakened after drinking caffeine. Gave it up for a few years (am 24 yearss old now) and didn't notice a slump in energy levels anymore. Difference is back then I used powdered coffee and was on anti-biotics and now I use fresh ground coffee. If you do drink coffee, do as the previous answers suggested and try to have some sugar in the form of fruits. The body requires nutrients to process caffeine. Have some cheese (in a sandwich or roll) with the coffee to weaken its effects and after an hour or 2 eat some fruit.

Cactus conundrum.?

As part of my attempts to get my full "5 a day" quota I have been taking bites from the catcus in my living room. The problem is that it makes my mouth hurt. The more cactus I eat the more my oral orifice suffers, sometimes resulting in bleeding. Does anyone have any hints as to serving suggestions?
Answer:
May i suggest that you purchase cacti from the Aeonium genus as these do not have the irritating spines that are painful to eat!
Try some delicious raw broccoli instead.
Boil it first and use ambesol on your mouth.
Goes down good with Pacifico and tequilla shooters.
I would advise taking off any spines, this is propably why it's hurting you.

You're probably doing ok eating it raw, they go quite stringy if you cook them.

once you get through the one you have, you should consider purchasing an agave, they produce Tequilla
Hmmmm, I would suggest leaving your cactus alone, and purchasing some fruit and veg from your local store, and trying that instead...?

You will find the taste much more appealing and find that few fruits will damage your mouth...
I think the five a day quota refers to fruit and veg,but discludes cactus, I think that's where your going wrong. try grapes instead of cactus.
i see you are new to this site, while i welcome educated banter, i will give you a word of warning, if you continue to with your unprovoked attack on MANCHESTER UNITED i will have no option than release the dogs.

when answering a question at least include the answer with some substance, otherwise your rant is only point-gaming.

finally only an idiot would attempt to eat cactus with the pine needles still in. you should remove them, slice it and try frying in olive oil, very tasty.
